Glenmorangie 'A Tale Of The Forest' Scotch Whisky
Glenmorangie distillery, near the town of Tain in the Scottish Highlands has the tallest copper stills in Scotland, ensuring maximum Copper contact during distillation, resulting in a light and fruity spirit.
With the Glenmorangie 'A Tale Of the Forest', Master Distiller for the Glenmorangie Distillery, Dr Bill Lumsden has sought to bring back a traditional method of kilning malted barley by using juniper berries, birch bark and heather blossom, along with a small amount of peat (something previously said would never go near a Glenmorangie release), to create something of historical interest and very tasty indeed.
The whisky has a herbaceous character not familiar to Glenmorangie, with aromas of pine and juniper along with a wisp of fine smoke. The palate has notes of eucalypt and bitter orange with a gentle oaky finish. Delicious.
