Ardbeg Anthology ‘The Harpy’s Tale’ 13 Year Old Scotch Whisky

The Ardbeg distillery lies on the most southerly part of Islay on the rugged shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Since 1815 (the same year Laphroaig was founded) Ardbeg distillery has been producing a heavily peated and coastal style of Scotch whisky. 

The Ardbeg Anthology 13 year old 'The Harpy's Tale' single malt Scotch whisky is a limited release Islay single malt matured in a mix of ex-Sauternes casks (sweet white wine from the Bordeaux region in France) and ex-bourbon casks. The whisky is  non-chill filtered and bottled at 46% ABV, retaining maximum flavour and texture. 

Official tasting note: Smoked lemon peel soars alongside balsamic vinegar, before fresh apricots roll and bank into notes of tarry rope. First imagined only as a flight of fantasy, this is a spirit that achieves the ultimate equilibrium between sweetness and smoke. A rare beast Ardbeg indeed…
