Pintail 2012, 10 Year Old, Blended Scotch Whisky

The Pintail brand was originally established by Matthew Gloag and Sons in the 1930's for bottling their dry sherries. After the trademark was allowed to lapse it was picked up by Keith Bonnington (Keeper of the Quaich and owner of The Whisky Cellars Independent Bottlers) to create a range of spirits and wines. With a focus on unusual bottlings, and whiskies finished in rare (and often sweet) wine casks, the Pintail range is built around a focus on extremely limited and desirable bottlings. 

"Purveyors of Precious Wines & Spirits" is the tagline, with a focus on "precious"!

The Pintail 2012 Blended Scotch Whisky is built from a selection of cask chosen for their richness and balance, filled into single first fill ex Sherry Butt for at least 10 years. The resulting whisky is textural and rich, bttled at 57.1% without chill-filtration or colour additions.
