Old Perth Vintage 2007 Blended Scotch Whisky
From one of Scotland's oldest Whisky families; previous owners of Bowmore, Auchentoshan and Glen Garioch; the Morrison Family.
The Old Perth label was created by local grocer, Peter Thomson who originally produced the 'Old Perth' blend. In homage to Peter every box of Old Perth carries his family’s name.
One of Scotland’s oldest whisky families, the Morrisons (formerly of Morrison Bowmore Distillers), purchased the Old Perth brand and brought the legacy back to life for all to enjoy.
The Morrison's Old Perth 2007 Vintage blended scotch whisky is a small batch release of only 1292 bottles blended from malts all from the Glenlivet region.
Rich dark fruit, dark chocolate and spice with robust, earth and leathery notes as a result of the full sherry cask maturation.
Simon's notes: While the alcohol is obvious on the nose, so is the quality of these sherry casks! Orange peel, raisins, stewed apricots, a deft touch of rancio, alongside ginger, dark chocolate, forest floor & leather notes. The palate is more than rich enough to handle the 56.7% ABV. Cinnamon and clove spices, join the mix. Texturally this veers comfortably into a silky oiliness. An extremely long finish! Wow!
Australia's allocation is 30 bottles, so a rare and delicious gem.
