Innis & Gunn The Original Scottish Golden Ale 12 x 330mL

Innis & Gunn Original Ale is a revolutionary craft beer that redefines the boundaries of traditional brewing. This award-winning ale is a testament to Scottish brewing heritage, infused with modern innovation.

Scottish brewers, Innis & Gunn have been crafting incredible beer for 20 years (as at 2023). Born from the intrigue of Ale matured in whisky casks, creating beers much loved by fans of malt whisky.

What sets Innis & Gunn apart is its unique oak cask maturation process. Inspired by the Scottish tradition of aging spirits in oak barrels, Innis & Gunn matures its ales in hand-selected oak casks. This process imparts subtle oaky notes, enhancing the beer's complexity and creating a truly distinctive flavor profile.

The Innis & Gunn 'The Original' is a Golden Scottish Ale that has been cask-matured using ex-single malt whisky casks for incredible complexity and smoothness. The Original is the I&G flagship beer which the brewery was founded on back in 2003. A beautiful honey-hued, malty, golden Scottish beer. The result is a truly unique, delicious beer brimming with vanilla and toffee. That richness is perfectly balanced by notes of orange marmalade, citrus, and hints of oak with a very gentle understated bitterness. A delicate, velvety mouthfeel completes the experience. Smooth, refreshing, and decidedly different from the usual.

The Original uses an expertly balanced combination of three malts; Innis & Gunn Ale Malt, Crystal Malt and Amber Malt. This exquisitely judged combination earned The Original a Grand Gold certification at the 2021 Monde Selection.
