Glendronach 12 Year Old Scotch Whisky
Under the stewardship of Billy Walker from 2008 to 2016 Glendronach went from obscurity to cult status. So far under the ownership of Brown-Forman we have not (to-date) seen any problematic issues around whisky quality, even though since the take-over production compacity has doubled, and is due to double again in the near future.
The Glendronach 12 Year Old single malt scotch whisky is named on the label "Original" designating this as the Glendronach "house style". The one they want to be known for. Certainly this is one of the best ex-sherried style malts around the price point and well worth having a bottle on the go at all times.
Tasting note by Gavin Smith: "A sweet nose of Christmas cake fresh from the oven. Smooth on the palate, with sherry, soft oak, fruit, almonds and spices. The finish is comparatively dry and nutty, ending with bitter chocolate"
