Wm Cadenhead’s Ltd is Scotland’s oldest independent bottler, founded in 1842 but since 1972 they have been based in Campbeltown.
Cadenhead’s specialise in bottling single cask or small batch whisky, gin, rum, cognac, and other spirits from across all of Scotland and the rest of the world.
Calvados is a French apple brandy from the Normandy region. This release from Cadenheads is a 'Pays d'Auge Controlee' which indicates the brandy may contain 30% perry pears, and has been double distilled in 30hl (3000L) copper pot stills.
606 bottles were produced when bottled in 2019 at 44.8% ABV.
Tasting notes:
Nose: Lots of tropical fruits! Pineapple, lemon zest and freshly cut woods
Palate: Apple strudel, pear, mango and marzipan
Finish: Rhubarb, red grapes and candied orange peel
