The Cooper's Choice range of single cask whiskies from Scotland's finest distilleries are releases from the Family owned Independent Bottlers; The Vintage Malt Whisky Company. The range is a homage to the passion and skill of the Coopers, the craftsmen, who build the barrels for maturation of Scotch Whisky. The range focuses on the impact of maturation in oak, and includes several obscure and rare wood finishes.
Distilled at the now closed lowland grain Cambus distillery in 1991, this single grain scotch whisky spent much of its life in American Oak before a finish in an Italian Amarone red-wine cask. Only 336 bottles from the outturn.
From the bottler: "Nose: Big and bold with cherry liqueur, coconut and brown sugar. Palate: Tropical fruits and bourbon. Coconut with subtle notes of figs and dark chocolate:"
Bottled at cask strength of 46.2% ABV.
