The Glenturret 7 Years Old Peat Smoked is an introduction to the distillery's peated single malt style, bringing together gentle peat smoke, fruit and spice with the character of its Highland spirit.

Matured in a combination of American oak, European oak and refill casks, the whisky balances the influence of the wood with the character of the peated spirit. American oak brings sweetness and vanilla, while the European oak and refill casks allow the citrus and smoky notes to remain clearly in focus.

On the nose and palate, sweet vanilla leads into citrus fruits and soft peat smoke. Ginger and nutmeg add gentle spice, while hints of sea salt and maturing oak develop through the whisky. The finish is fruity and softly peated, leaving a lingering touch of smoke without overpowering the underlying character.

At 46% ABV, the 7 Years Old Peat Smoked offers an approachable introduction to The Glenturret's peated whisky, with enough smoke to make its character clear while retaining the fruity and approachable style of the distillery.

The Story of The Glenturret

The Glenturret's story dates back to 1763, making it Scotland's oldest working distillery. Still located in the picturesque Hosh near Crieff in Perthshire, the distillery continues to use traditional, hands on methods of production that have remained central to its character for generations.

In 2019, The Glenturret entered a new chapter following its acquisition by Lalique Group and its partners. Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno joined the distillery that same year, bringing a fresh focus to the character of the spirit, cask selection and the development of its single malt range.

Today, The Glenturret combines that long history with a considered approach to modern whisky making, guided by its core values of Provenance, Prowess and Passion.
