The Glenturret 10 Years Old Peat Smoked 2025
The Glenturret 10 Years Old Peat Smoked takes the distillery's peated style a little further, combining a more developed smoky character with the sweetness and fruit that sit at the heart of The Glenturret's spirit.
Made exclusively from peated spirit and matured in a combination of American and European oak casks, the whisky balances generous layers of smoke with rich dried fruit. Sweet vanilla sits alongside dates and figs, while soft smoke and warming oak add depth as the whisky develops in the glass.
The palate brings together smouldering peat, sweet vanilla and rich dried fruit, with the smoke remaining balanced rather than overwhelming. Wisps of oak build towards a long, warm finish, giving the whisky a fuller and more developed character than its younger 7 Year Old counterpart.
At 48.4% ABV, the 10 Years Old Peat Smoked offers a deeper look at The Glenturret's approach to peated whisky. It is a richer expression, but still retains the balance between smoke, fruit and oak that makes it distinctly Glenturret.
The 2025 release also marks an important moment in the history of The Glenturret's peated range. The distillery is transitioning away from using peated malt in its own production, making these final core range Peat Smoked releases a particularly interesting part of the distillery's story.
The Story of The Glenturret
The Glenturret's story dates back to 1763, making it Scotland's oldest working distillery. Still located in the picturesque Hosh near Crieff in Perthshire, the distillery continues to use traditional, hands on methods of production that have remained central to its character for generations.
In 2019, The Glenturret entered a new chapter following its acquisition by Lalique Group and its partners. Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno joined the distillery that same year, bringing a fresh focus to the character of the spirit, cask selection and the development of its single malt range.
Today, The Glenturret combines that long history with a considered approach to modern whisky making, guided by its core values of Provenance, Prowess and Passion.
