Isle of Raasay Dùn Cana 2nd Edition Scotch Whisky

The Isle of Raasay Dùn Cana Sherry Quarter Cask Release, Second Editions, was first matured in American ex-rye casks, followed by a second maturation in (roughly) 50/50 ex-Pedro Ximinez, and ex-Oloroso sherry quarters casks. Crafted with meticulous care, this exceptional single malt is a testament to the artistry of the Raasay Distillery. Each drop is a celebration of the island's pristine environment, rich peat, and pure Highland water.

'Dùn Cana' is the name of the highest peak on the Isle of Raasay. 'Dùn' is the Gaelic term for an elevated stronghold, and legend has it that 'Cana' was the name of a Norse warrior who named the elevation after himself. The annual Dùn Cana release is inspired by the island home of the Isle of Raasay Distillery, honoring their Hebridean home and heritage.

The Dùn Cana Second Edition release from Isle of Raasay is a lightly peated whisky, balanced with rich dried fruit flavours, alongside vanilla toffee notes with white pepper and sea spray.

This limited-edition release is a must-have for whisky connoisseurs and collectors alike. Each bottle is individually numbered and presented in a stunning gift box, making it the perfect gift for any special occasion.

The Isle of Raasay Distillery was founded by Bill Dobbie and Alasdair Day on the small Isle of Raasay, 15 miles north of Skye in the Inner Hebrides. Spirit production began in 2017, and since then Isle of Raasay has become one of the most highly regarded of the new Scottish distilleries.

Rooted in centuries of illicit distilling, Raasay provides the ingredients for the perfect dram. Every drop of spirit for Raasay Whisky is distilled, matured and bottled on the island using water from the Raasay Distillery well, Tobar na Ba Bàine, ‘Well of the Pale Cow’. Mineral-rich Raasay water and long fermentations of up to 118 hours (5 days) develop sweet blackberry characteristics in our spirit before it even touches the oak of the cask.
