Old Pulteney truly is one of the great Scotch Distilleries. Founded in 1826, and located on the eastern Coast, way up north (Scotlands 2nd most northerly distillery on the main land), for almost 2 centuries Old Pulteney has been quietly producing some of the most consistently high quality Scotch Malt Whisky that can be found any where!
This Old Pulteney 15 Year Old Scotch Whisky, launched in 2018, is the replacement for the much sought-after 17 Year Old. The newly packaged Old Pulteney 15 Year Old was aged in bourbon and second-fill American oak casks, then a short period in first-fill Spanish oak oloroso butts.
The Old Pulteney 15 Year Old Scotch Whisky was matured to perfection for a balanced palate and smooth mouth feel. The whisky is complex, and walks the line between it's two different barrel types well, with a supporting coastal influence.
On one hand, this is an intense single malt, yet at the same time, it is truly balanced.
Expect the Old Pulteney 15 Year Old to show spice and sweetness United in this naturally rich amber whisky to celebrate rich flavours, yet lighter, more refreshing coastal notes show another side of this single malt.
