The Cooper's Choice range of single cask whiskies from Scotland's finest distilleries are releases from the Family owned Independent Bottlers; The Vintage Malt Whisky Company. The range is a homage to the passion and skill of the Coopers, the craftsmen, who build the barrels for maturation of Scotch Whisky. The range focuses on the impact of maturation in oak, and includes several obscure and rare wood finishes.
This 1982 distilled single cask was a blended grain matured for 36 years in first fill ex-bourbon barrels. A really delicious grain whisky with loads of burnt butter and clear caramelised sugars and coconut from the cask. Extremely long finishing, and another gem showing how fantastic old grains can be and extremely brilliant value!
From the bottler: "Caremelised brown sugar and oak...coconut. A smooth marriage of dried fruits, coconut, bourbon notes and delicious spices. Long lasting. (with) more vanilla, lacquered oak and dried fruits. Velvety smooth."
700mL. 50% VOL. From a single cask of only 300 bottles.
