At the foot of the UK's tallest mountain, of the same name, the Ben Nevis distillery is found. the distillery is owned the Japanese firm, Nikka, and is respected for making strong and intense spirit.
This Ben Nevis 4 year old (2015) by Carn Mor Strictly Limited is a malt that wears its youth particularly well. Slightly peated and matured in a pair of sherry hogsheads the malt shows stewed fruits, raisins, loads of leather and dried orange peel. A whack of earthiness, and the overall impact is sensational. Finishes long and spicy.
