Deanston 10 Year Old (2009) - Old Particular by Douglas Laing
Douglas Laing's Old Particular range of Scotch Whiskies are a particularly unique series of individually hand-selected, aged Single Cask Single Malts and Single Grains from all over Scotland. Each is bottled exactly the way the Distiller intended: without colouring or chill-filtration, and at high alcohol strength. This combination allows the cask to retain the naturally present oils, fats and enzymes in the spirit that enhance the quality of the nose, the mouthfeel and flavour profile of the Whisky. Keeping the spirit “as natural as it gets” allows you to experience the Whisky straight from the cask, transporting you to a dark, damp Distillery warehouse with every sip.
Deanston distillery make a delightful nutty and spicy spirit. It's always a pleasure to have Deanston single malt Scotch whisky around, as they are certified by the Organic Food Association and power their distillery using hydro energy, so you can always feel good about the delicious dram in your hand.
This malt was distilled in September 2009 and matured for 10 years in a refill barrel.
Notes from the bottler: "Attractively dulcet with barley sugar, cereal, chocolate and ...honey. Spices to the fore, then an attractive amalgam of all the above." FHL
